UAE Team Cyclist Tadej Pogačar Clinches Second Tour of Flanders Title
UAE Team Emirates-XRG's Pogačar dominates with a decisive solo attack, securing his eighth Monument victory.

Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates-XRG delivered a masterful performance to claim his second Tour of Flanders title. The 26-year-old Slovenian cyclist launched a decisive solo attack on the Oude Kwaremont climb, distancing his rivals with 19 km remaining and crossing the finish line in Oudenaarde over a minute ahead of his closest competitors.
The 268.9 km race, renowned for its challenging cobblestone sections and steep climbs, saw Pogačar break away from a select group that included notable cyclists such as Mathieu van der Poel, Mads Pedersen, and Wout van Aert. Despite facing relentless attacks and the aftermath of early crashes involving teammates, Pogačar's strategic prowess and endurance secured his solo victory.
This triumph marks Pogačar's eighth Monument win, underscoring his versatility and dominance across various race formats.
In the women's race, Belgian cyclist Lotte Kopecky made history by securing her third Tour of Flanders title, solidifying her status as a dominant force in women's cycling.
Pogačar's focus now shifts to the upcoming Paris-Roubaix, where he aims to continue his impressive form and tackle the unique challenges of the famed "Hell of the North."
