Egyptian Label Nashwa Jewellery is Feeling ‘Lucid’ This Summer

Is it a dream or reality? Egyptian jewellery designer Nashwa Mostafa says “It’s both.”

As the years have gone by, Egyptian jewellery designer Nashwa Mostafa’s summer collections have proven one thing: the ocean never stops being Mostafa’s muse. While the ocean remains the backdrop against which the label presents its SS24 jewellery collection, the Egyptian designer found inspiration in an intangible natural phenomenon this time around: lucid dreams.

A “trip into the dreams of the unconscious gems of the mind,” Mostafa’s latest collection builds upon her existing signature aesthetic, while introducing new silhouettes, featuring fluid pieces in gold, inlaid with various precious stones in shades of teal, turquoise, ruby, and amber orange.

The Muse:

“Lucid dreams are ones experienced by people with an incredible sense of imagination. They’re rare to have, and sometimes people actually try to purposely have lucid dreams. It’s essentially about being an architect of your reality; you shape your dreams.” Nashwa Mostafa, the Founder and Creative Director of Nashwa Jewellery, tells SceneStyled. “That’s on-brand for us, and that’s something we always seek to convey through Nashwa Jewellery; having agency over your own path, and one of the ways that happens is through expressing yourself through jewellery.”

The Collection in Three Words:

"Fantastical. Escapist. Surreal."

Where to Wear it:

“A beach party, a wedding, or better yet, a beach wedding. The pieces truly work everywhere.”

How to Style it:

“Stack as many bangles as you can, and make sure you put on a bold choker for maximum impact.”

The Verdict:

While the new collection stays true to Nashwa Mostafa’s creative vision, effortlessly fitting into her brand’s existing repertoire, the ‘Lucid’ collection presents a new era for the label, featuring fresh shapes, each hand-sculpted to convey the fluidity reminiscent of lucid dreams.
