Georges Hobeika Debuts Fall '23 Haute Couture Collection in Paris
The Lebanese fashion legend really knows how to deliver surreal, feminine glamour.
Dragonflies gracefully flutter throughout Georges Hobeika's exquisitely dazzling latest haute couture collection, Un Rêve, meaning ‘A Dream’ in English, which made its debut at Paris Couture Week yesterday. By blending a predominantly soft colour palette, delicate fabrics with intricate embellishments, and a hint of allure, Hobeika presents his newest couture masterpiece.
"This collection was imagined to celebrate hope and optimism. We have chosen soft colours and fluid silhouettes that evoke joy, gentleness, and freedom", said father-and-son creative director duo Georges and Jad Hobeika, via the label’s Instagram account.
The menswear pieces artfully capture the essence of the entire collection, infusing the airy and feminine spirit into strong yet softly edged masculine silhouettes.
As expected from a design house renowned for its affinity for sparkle and sheer glamour, this latest offering remains faithful to the legendary label's essence. The collection embodies both intricate femininity and artistic experimentation with silhouette and form.
The dreamlike and ethereal colour palette of the collection oscillates gracefully between shades of blues, lilacs, sunshiney yellows, and pinks. Hobeika's deft manipulation of delicate fabrics creates interplays of opacity and translucency, while meticulous embellishments lend an airy and whimsical ambiance to the designs.
While the majority of the designs pay homage to celebrating the feminine form by embracing proximity to the wearer, a few standout pieces play with structure, showcasing Hobeika's ability to create beyond just a captivating red carpet moment.
