New Visitors Center & Transit System Now Operational at Giza Pyramids
From new ticket machines to an upgraded transport system—the Giza Pyramids are now more accessible than ever.

A brand new era of exploration has begun at Egypt’s most iconic archaeological site, thanks to a sweeping redevelopment project led by Orascom Pyramids Entertainment in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The long-anticipated upgrade is designed to make exploring the Pyramids smoother, smarter, and more immersive than ever.
The old ‘Mena House Gate’ has made way for a new main entrance: ‘The Great Gate,’ tucked along the Cairo-Fayoum road. Once inside, visitors step into a fully revamped experience starting at the new wheelchair accessible ‘Visitors Center,’ where you can grab tickets from sleek self-service machines, breeze through security, and check out a modern exhibition hall filled with artifact replicas, infographics, and a heritage cinema that reimagines ancient Egypt onscreen.
There’s also a new shopping area for souvenirs and essentials, a VIP lounge if you’re feeling fancy, and a central bus terminal ready to whisk you across the archaeological zone. The new transport system features designated stops at each major site—from Khufu’s Great Pyramid to the Sphinx—with more guest services and snack kiosks popping up along the way.
Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned history buff, this upgraded journey to the Pyramids blends ancient wonder with modern convenience—bringing the past into the present, without skipping a beat.
