AED 786 Million 8-Lane Bridge to Be Built Over Dubai Creek

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled plans for a new AED 786 million bridge spanning Dubai Creek, aimed at easing traffic congestion around the Bur Dubai area. The project is part of a broader initiative to enhance connectivity between key areas of the city and improve overall traffic flow.

Stretching 1,425 metres, the eight-lane bridge will accommodate four lanes in each direction and is expected to handle up to 16,000 vehicles per hour. Linking the Infinity Bridge with the Port Rashid Development Area, the bridge is designed with a vertical clearance of 15.5 metres and includes a 60-metre-wide navigational channel to ensure unimpeded passage for marine traffic.

In addition to improving vehicular movement, the bridge will feature a dedicated path for pedestrians and cyclists, complete with elevators to facilitate access. The project also includes the development of 2,000 metres of surface roads to integrate the bridge into the surrounding road network, connecting Dubai Islands and Bur Dubai.
