Cairo to Host Tripartite Summit With France & Jordan on Gaza Ceasefire
A tripartite summit between Egypt, France and Jordan is set to take place in Cairo on Monday, focused on securing a ceasefire in Gaza and expanding humanitarian aid.

Cairo is set to host a tripartite summit to address the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and to push for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, bringing together Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II from April 7th to the 8th.
The leaders will discuss strategies to coordinate aid delivery into Gaza and advocate for broader de-escalation efforts as international pressure mounts to end hostilities. The announcement follows intensified diplomatic engagement by Egypt, which has been a mediator in ceasefire talks in coordination with Qatar and the United States.
Macron’s visit comes amidst a tour of the region, where he has called for an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages. During his visit to Egypt, Macron plans to go to the port of Arish, 50 kilometres from the border with Gaza, to meet with humanitarian and security workers.
These efforts follow Israel’s resumption of its genocidal war in mid-March, which shattered an already fragile ceasefire agreement that had been finalised in January 2025.
