In this week’s edition of Rap of the Week, where we spotlight the freshest drops from across the Middle East and North Africa, we're showcasing picks come from Mvndila, Shaw, Marwan Moussa,and Wegz.

Fresh off the melodic, laid-back R&B vibes of his latest EP ‘Roshetta’, Sudanese rapper Mvndila dives into darker territory with his new single ‘DVMNILA’. Anchored by ominous production and a heavy trap beat, the track is feels like a more mature version of Mvndila’s initial sound.

On the diss front, Moroccan rapper Pause takes direct aim at Don Bigg with his hard-hitting track ‘Pawn Bigg’, while Shaw claps back at his competitors on his own diss single, ‘Mikec’.

The playlist also features rising Casablanca talent 21 Tach linking up with veteran MC Tchubi on ‘M7ami Tach-Ma’. The track is part of their new joint project, ‘5 Killers’, a criminal case file of sorts, uniting five Moroccan rappers who each have left their mark on the region’s hip-hop culture.

Rounding out this week’s list are two Egyptian heavyweights who need no introduction: Marwan Moussa with ‘Mshmawgooda’, featuring Ismailia’s own Mousv, and Wegz with ‘De’, featuring Algerian rap icon Savage Plug.
