Rap of the Week | Jan 20 - 27

In this edition of our weekly rap releases roundup, ‘Rap of the Week’, we go through the latest releases across rap scenes in the region to highlight its most standout tracks. This list features new music by Karim Enzo, Didine Canon and Lella Fadda.

The playlist marks the comeback of Cairene rapper and producer Karim Enzo. Two years after his hiatus, Enzo returns with a debut titled ‘Hal Mn Mazeed?’, from which we select the standout track ‘Khawagat (Freestyle)’. The track features the most interesting production on the project, complemented by Enzo’s unconventional, interrupted flow.

We also get the latest track from Lella Fadda, ‘Tarat Tat Tat’, off her debut album ‘MAGNUN’. The closing track sees Lella touching down on weighty topics, tackling issues like violence against women and relationship dynamics - one of the album’s more serious cuts. Also on the list: Mared and Yonyo with ‘3ayza Eh?’, Didine Canon with ‘L’equipe II’ and Fat Mizzo with ‘Murray’.
