This week on our rap playlist, we bring you our picks for the best releases from the MENA region, featuring fresh tunes from the likes of Stormy, One Zizo, Ilmond and Lella Fadda.

Egyptian rapper and singer Lella Fadda unveiled the deluxe version of her debut album ‘MAGNUN’, featuring two new tracks from the vault, including the sequel to her hit song ‘Fokak Meni’. Titled ‘Fokak Meni 2’, the track features electrifying verses from Abo El Anwar, which perfectly complement Lella’s and Abyu’s bars. Moroccan rap sensation Stormy joins Dutch hip-hop artist Ashafar on a new single, ‘Darija’, produced by Chahid, a love letter to Morocco packed with clever wordplay and rapid-fire flows in Darija.

Next up, Moroccan rapper, singer and producer Najm returns with a new EP ‘U’, a compelling amalgamation of instrumentals, rai, and hip-hop with pop sensibilities. One of the standouts on the record is ‘Riri&Rocky’, a heartfelt slow-burner tackling lost love, featuring rising star Manal. Over moody, melodic trap production, Najm paints a picture of a ride-or-die love that fell apart, and the heartbreak it follows. Meanwhile, Manal’s verses push back, torn between grief and closure, serving as a melancholic duet of emotional accountability.

The playlist also features Egyptian phenomenon Ilmond with a stripped-down contemplative tune ‘Amana’, and North Sinai’s El Nashmy making his debut with a dark-trap single ‘Esh El 3amal’, produced by 9ine and BandLab chat.
