Free 96-Hour Transit Visa in Egypt Extended Through April 2026

The Egyptian Cabinet has announced a one-year extension of the free 96-hour transit visa, which is now valid through April 2026. The visa permits eligible travelers to stay in Egypt for up to four days at no cost and forms part of the country’s broader tourism development strategy.

In 2024, Egypt welcomed 15.7 million tourists, generating $14.1 billion in tourism revenue. To achieve its target of 30 million annual visitors by 2028, the government plans to expand hospitality infrastructure by adding approximately 250,000 new hotel rooms.
