King Abdulaziz Library Releases New Book on History of Saudi Coffee
Titled ‘Saudi Coffee’, this book explores Saudi coffee’s discovery, history and cultivation across eight illustrated chapters.

The King Abdulaziz Public Library has published a new book titled ‘Saudi Coffee’ by Saeed Al-Wayel and Ahmed Al-Baqshi as part of its academic publishing program.
The book spans eight chapters and includes colour photographs, exploring the discovery, history, global journey and cultivation of Saudi coffee. It highlights coffee’s ties to Saudi culture through ancient inscriptions, historical texts, trade routes, markets, and associated traditions.
The book also examines coffee’s influence on urban planning, including dedicated coffee rooms in house designs, preparation methods, appearances in literature, and the growth of the coffee industry in the Kingdom.
