New App Brings Historic Jeddah’s Cultural Revival to Your Fingertips

The Ministry of Culture has launched an app dedicated to the Jeddah Historic District, offering visitors a new way to experience one of the Kingdom’s most treasured heritage sites. The app provides personalised tour routes, real-time alerts about cultural events, and verified historical information about key landmarks, enhancing both local and international engagement with the district’s storied past.
The launch is part of the broader ‘Revitalisation of Historic Jeddah’ project, a major initiative supported by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The project aims to restore and revitalise the district—known locally as Al-Balad—which has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. Historic Jeddah’s revitalisation efforts focus on preserving traditional architecture, promoting cultural tourism, and creating a sustainable environment where heritage and modern life coexist.
The app also reflects the Kingdom’s wider goals under Saudi Vision 2030, using technology to preserve national heritage while positioning Saudi Arabia as a global cultural destination.
