Ras Al Khaimah Launches New Orange Bus Route for Faster Urban Transit
The new route links major areas to the city centre in under 30 minutes, with 20 daily trips and AED 8 fares.

Ras Al Khaimah has launched a new public bus service—the Orange Route—to improve city-wide mobility and strengthen links between major residential and commercial districts. Operated by Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), the 13-kilometre route connects Al Nakheel to Al Dhait South’s main bus station, passing through eight stops including Julphar Towers, Al Mamourah, and Flamingo Beach.
With a trip duration of 25 to 30 minutes, the Orange Route is designed to reduce commuter wait times and ease congestion by offering frequent service throughout the day. The buses operate 20 times daily, running from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM. Each ride is priced at AED 8, with fares payable through smart cards or contactless payment methods.
The initiative is part of RAKTA’s broader strategy to expand internal public transit and promote sustainable mobility across the emirate. With the addition of the Orange Route, Ras Al Khaimah’s total public transport network now covers 99 kilometres. Officials note that the new line also integrates with inter-emirate routes, improving connections between Ras Al Khaimah and the wider UAE.
