UAE Tourism Generates USD 12.26 Billion in Hotel Revenues in 2024
Hotel revenues grew 3% year-over-year as the UAE welcomed over 30 million guests, far ahead of 2031 tourism targets.

The UAE’s hotel sector generated AED 45 billion (USD 12.26 billion) in revenue during 2024, marking a 3% increase from the previous year, according to Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Emirates Tourism Council.
Hotel occupancy across the Emirates reached 78% in 2024, placing the UAE among the top global and regional performers. Total hotel guest numbers rose to 30.8 million, representing a 9.5% year-on-year increase. These figures fulfil 77% of the ‘National Tourism Strategy 2031’ guest target seven years ahead of schedule.
Minister Al Marri credited the progress to national efforts aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure and expanding the sector’s contribution to the UAE economy. The tourism strategy focuses on increasing annual tourism sector GDP contributions to AED 450 billion by 2031, improving competitiveness, and developing lesser-known destinations across the Emirates.
