Cairo University Suspends Classes on April 7th for Macron Campus Visit


Cairo University has announced the suspension of classes across all its faculties and institutes on Monday, April 7th, 2025, in anticipation of an on-campus visit by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The visit marks one of the university’s most high-profile academic events of the year and comes as part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between Egypt and France in higher education and scientific research.

President Macron will be accompanied by an official delegation that includes the French Minister of Education and several presidents of top French universities.

As part of the visit, Cairo University will host the ‘Egyptian-French University Forum’, a platform aimed at signing new academic and research agreements. These agreements will support student exchange programs and the development of joint academic initiatives.

University officials have urged students to follow official university and faculty social media pages for real-time updates on class schedules, exam dates, and any changes related to the visit’s accompanying events.

During his visit to Egypt, French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to travel to Arish on Tuesday, April 8th. According to a statement from his office, he will meet with humanitarian and security personnel to reaffirm his “constant mobilization in favor of a ceasefire.
