UAE Wins 23 Medals to Take Second at GCC Beach Games 2025

The UAE team placed second overall at the 3rd GCC Beach Games, which took place in Muscat from April 5th to the 11th. The national delegation, comprising 77 athletes, won a total of 23 medals—eight gold, eight silver and seven bronze—across disciplines including sailing, athletics, paragliding, beach handball and football.

The sailing team led the UAE’s performance with 11 medals, including a gold in the Optimist team event and another in the K4 event by Marwa Al Hammadi. In athletics, the UAE took home six medals, with silver and bronze wins in the men’s 4x100m relay and high jump events. The aerosports team added three more medals, including two golds in paragliding earned by Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi.

The UAE beach handball team won bronze after claiming four victories in the group stage. Meanwhile, the national beach football team secured silver after a 5–1 win over Kuwait in their final match of the tournament.

Oman topped the medal table with 45 medals, while Saudi Arabia and Bahrain followed with 18 and 17 respectively.
