Daylight Saving Schedule Introduced in Saudi Schools Starting April 6

The Ministry of Education has announced the implementation of a daylight saving schedule in public schools, effective from Saturday, April 6th (8 Shawwal in the Hijri calendar). The change is intended to reduce the impact of rising summer temperatures on the educational environment.

Under the new plan, the timing of the Morning Assembly and the First Lesson will be adjusted based on local conditions in each governorate. In Riyadh, Zulfi, Al-Fujayrah, and Al-Qurayyat, the school day will begin at 6:30 AM. In Makkah, Taif, Asir, Mahayil Asir, Najran, and Afif, classes will start at 6:45 AM. Schools in Al-Baha, the Eastern Region, and the Northern Borders (for boys) will begin at 7:00 AM.
