The trip aims to bolster economic ties and address regional security concerns.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates from May 13th to May 16th, 2025, marking his second overseas trip since returning to office. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the itinerary, stating that the visit aims to "strengthen ties" with these key Middle Eastern allies.
The Gulf tour is expected to include discussions on regional security and investment, with potential deals that could reach into the hundreds of billions of dollars. The UAE visit is expected to include meetings focused on advanced defence procurement, clean energy, and joint technology development. Meanwhile, Trump’s upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia is expected to include a sweeping investment agreement that could see Saudi Arabia commit up to USD 1 trillion in the United States.
The visit will follow President Trump's planned attendance at Pope Francis's funeral in Rome later this week, which will be his first foreign trip of his second term.
