Pay Fees For Imported Phones in Egypt Before Suspension on April 7th

The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has issued a reminder to mobile phone users to pay outstanding fees for imported devices within the next two days. The warning comes as part of the authority’s ongoing effort to regulate devices entering the Egyptian market through unofficial channels.

Users who fail to pay the required fees before the deadline risk having their devices suspended across all mobile networks operating in the country. The suspension will affect phones that were activated outside Egypt and are not officially registered with the regulatory system.

This policy is part of a larger enforcement framework that began last year, aimed at curbing smuggled and untaxed mobile devices. It follows a move to require phone imports to be registered and verified through the Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to ensure taxes and tariffs are properly collected.
